The University of Minnesota Extension is inviting small and beginning pig farmers to join an upcoming educational webinar focused on swine health, nutrition, management, and day-to-day pork production challenges.
The webinar, titled Ask a Swine Specialist: From Swine Health to Feed, will take place June 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. and will feature a panel of experienced swine specialists answering questions from pork producers and individuals interested in pig farming.
According to the announcement, the online Zoom event is designed to help beginning pork producers and small-scale pig farmers gain practical insight into swine care, feeding programs, barn management, and production practices. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to swine industry experts during the live Q&A session.
The educational webinar is hosted through a collaboration between University of Minnesota Extension, Iowa State University, and The Ohio State University.
Funding support for the program is being provided through the National Pork Board Swine Educators Grant Program.
Organizers say the webinar aims to support pork producers by providing reliable information and expert guidance on topics ranging from swine health and nutrition to everyday management decisions that impact pig performance and farm success.
The event reflects continued efforts across the pork industry to provide educational resources and mentorship opportunities for new and emerging swine producers throughout the United States.
