OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — High school students interested in leadership, agriculture advocacy and the pork industry have an opportunity to strengthen their skills this summer through the 2026 Youth Pork Advocates Day hosted by the Oklahoma Pork Council.
Applications are now open for the one-day leadership event, which will take place on July 28, 2026, in Oklahoma City. The program is designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of Oklahoma’s pork industry while learning how to confidently share their agricultural story and advocate for the future of farming and food production.
According to the Oklahoma Pork Council, the event builds on the success of its inaugural year and will bring together students from across the state for a day focused on industry education, leadership development and advocacy training.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the pork production industry, gain valuable communication skills and connect with fellow young agricultural leaders from across Oklahoma. Organizers say the experience is intended to help students become stronger voices for agriculture both in their schools and communities.
The program is open to incoming freshmen through seniors enrolled in Oklahoma high schools. Students interested in agriculture, livestock production, leadership and agricultural advocacy are encouraged to apply.
Applications for the 2026 Youth Pork Advocates Day will remain open through July 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
As the pork industry continues to focus on developing future leaders, programs such as Youth Pork Advocates Day provide students with hands-on opportunities to learn about the industry, build leadership skills and prepare for future involvement in agriculture.
For Oklahoma youth interested in becoming advocates for the pork industry and agriculture, the July event offers a unique opportunity to gain industry knowledge while developing the confidence to tell agriculture’s story.
