LOGANSPORT, Ind. — Spanish-speaking employees working in the pork industry have an opportunity to strengthen their leadership and supervisory skills through a free training workshop scheduled for October 14, 2026, in Logansport, Indiana.
The Supervisory Training Workshop for Spanish-Speaking Workers is being offered through NC State University and NC Cooperative Extension, with support from Indiana Pork and sponsorship from the National Pork Board. The program is designed to help Spanish-speaking workers develop practical workplace skills, improve communication and build stronger teams within agricultural operations.
The workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cass County Fairgrounds, located at 2281 E County Road 125 N in Logansport. Registration is free, and a light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Building Leadership and Supervisory Skills in the Pork Industry
The training will focus on six areas of professional development that can help employees become more effective supervisors and team members. Topics include interpersonal development, leadership skills, financial decision-making, building cohesive teams, conflict resolution and employee performance.
These skills are especially important in pork production, where effective communication, teamwork and leadership play an important role in daily barn operations, employee development and animal care.
The workshop provides an educational opportunity for Spanish-speaking workers interested in developing their supervisory abilities, whether they currently lead employees or are preparing to take on additional responsibilities within their operations.
