As restaurants and food service businesses continue focusing on customer experience, employee training, and long-term business success, the Iowa Latino Hospitality Council is offering a specialized customer service course designed to strengthen hospitality teams across Iowa.

The upcoming “Curso de Servicio al Cliente Para Restaurantes,” or Restaurant Customer Service Course, is scheduled for June 29, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Restaurante Roots 95 in Johnston, Iowa. The training is focused on helping restaurant employees and hospitality professionals improve customer interactions, operational excellence, workplace leadership, and food service professionalism.

According to promotional materials shared by the organization, the course will cover topics including restaurant culture, food safety, communication skills, operational efficiency, leadership development, responsible beverage service, and handling food allergies safely. Organizers say the goal is to help hospitality teams create memorable dining experiences while improving restaurant reputation and customer retention.

The Iowa Latino Hospitality Council emphasized the importance of customer service within the food industry, noting that excellent food alone is not always enough to keep guests returning.

“In the food world, food falls in love, but service is what keeps customers coming back,” the organization shared in a recent announcement promoting the training program.

The organization also encouraged restaurant owners and hospitality managers to invest in employee development and customer care training to strengthen business success and long-term profitability.

While the course is designed for the broader restaurant and hospitality industry, strong customer service and food safety training also connect closely with agriculture and the pork industry. Restaurants, barbecue establishments, pork-focused menus, and food service businesses all play an important role in connecting consumers with pork products and supporting pork demand throughout the supply chain.

Programs focused on hospitality excellence, food handling, customer experience, and restaurant professionalism help strengthen the relationship between food producers, restaurants, and consumers across Iowa and beyond.

Pork Industry News is cheering on the hospitality industry and the professionals helping create positive dining experiences while supporting agriculture, livestock production, and the food industry.

Additional information about the training course is available through the Iowa Latino Hospitality Council website.
