BOONE, Iowa — The gates are nearly ready to open for the 2026 Farm Progress Show, and Pork Industry News got an early look Monday at what pork producers and farmers can expect when they arrive in Boone, Iowa.
Aug. 31 marked Media Day and the final day of setup before the Farm Progress Show opens Sept. 1. From Media Day to Opening Day
Monday’s Media Day provided a much different view of the Farm Progress Show than visitors will see once the gates open.
The grounds were still very much a work site. Exhibitors were assembling displays, equipment was moving into position and crews were working throughout the grounds to have everything ready for opening morning.
By Tuesday, those same streets will be filled with farmers and agricultural professionals looking for the newest ideas and innovations for their operations.
And one final tip from Pork Industry News: If you’re new to Iowa, bring plenty of water, dress for the heat and be prepared for some warm days on the show grounds. We have a heat wave on our hands this Farm Progress Show week. In true Iowa fashion, the show goes on.
