CLIVE, Iowa — The Iowa Pork Producers Association has named Sadie Heath its new programs and events manager, a role supporting programs and events that connect Iowa pig farmers with fellow producers, industry partners and consumers.
IPPA announced the hiring Aug. 25, 2026. Heath joins the association’s Clive office with a background in agricultural communications, outreach and marketing, along with firsthand experience growing up on a family livestock farm.
Supporting Iowa Pork Producers Through Programs and Events
Heath will help coordinate IPPA programs and events and build relationships with pork producers across the state.
“We’re excited to welcome Sadie Heath to the Iowa Pork team,” said Pat McGonegle, CEO of the Iowa Pork Producers Association. “Her strong agricultural background and enthusiasm for working with farmers make her a great fit for our organization. She understands agriculture firsthand, and we look forward to the energy and perspective she’ll bring to our programs, events, and the county organizations and producers we serve.”
A Family Farming Background
Heath grew up near Tony, Wisconsin, on her family’s third-generation dairy farm. She and her four siblings represent the fourth generation of the family operation.
Her family’s agricultural roots include an Iowa connection. Her great-grandfather moved from Sioux City to Wisconsin in 1940 and settled at the farm’s current location in 1942.
In addition to dairy production, the family raises beef cattle and grows cash crops. The family also raises a small group of pigs each year for its own freezer, giving Heath experience with swine alongside her work with cattle.
Her farm responsibilities began early, from milking cows and caring for livestock to picking rocks and driving tractors.
“Growing up on the farm taught me the value of hard work and gave me a strong appreciation for agriculture and the people who make it possible,” Heath said. “I’m excited to join the Iowa Pork Producers Association, learn more about the pork industry and put my education and agricultural background to work.”
Agricultural Communications and Outreach Experience
Heath graduated from Iowa State University in three years with double majors in Agricultural Communication and International Agriculture and a minor in Public Relations.
During college, she participated in study-abroad experiences in Italy, France and the U.S. Virgin Islands, broadening her perspective on agriculture and food production.
She also completed internships in agriculture, communications and public relations, gaining experience in outreach, marketing and working with people across the agricultural industry.
Heath will bring that experience to her new position as she helps IPPA connect with Iowa pork producers, county organizations and others involved in the state’s pork industry.
