Indiana pork producers will be recognized at the 2026 Indiana State Fair as Keith and Darla Schoettmer of Schoettmer Prime Pork in Tipton, Indiana, have been selected as a featured farm family by the Indiana State Fair.

According to Indiana Pork Farmers, the Schoettmer family operates a farrow-to-finish pork production farm, managing approximately 1,100 sows and raising nearly 23,000 pigs annually. Their operation also supports a full-time staff of eight employees dedicated to caring for livestock and maintaining daily farm operations.

The Indiana State Fair’s featured farm family program highlights farm families across the state who represent the dedication, hard work, and commitment that continue to drive Indiana agriculture forward. The Schoettmer family’s recognition also shines a spotlight on the important role pork producers play in food production, animal care, and rural communities throughout the Midwest.

The Schoettmer family will officially be featured during the Indiana State Fair on Thursday, August 13.

As one of Indiana’s leading agricultural industries, pork production continues to contribute significantly to the state’s economy while supporting family farms, local jobs, and the future of animal agriculture.

On behalf of Pork Industry News, congratulations to the Schoettmer family on this recognition and for their continued dedication to the pork industry.
