Ohio Pork Council Welcomes Communications Intern Sidney Street
NEW ALBANY, Ohio — The Ohio Pork Council is welcoming Sidney Street of Prospect, Ohio, to its 2026 summer internship program as a communications intern focused on promoting Ohio’s pork industry, pig farming community, and pork producer outreach efforts.

Sidney Street joins the Ohio Pork Council this summer as a communications intern, bringing a strong passion for agriculture, pig farming, and telling the stories of pork producers. Raised on a family farm in Marion County, Ohio, Sidney combines hands-on experience in the swine industry with her studies in agricultural communications at Oklahoma State University. Welcome to the team, Sidney!
Street is currently studying agricultural communications at Oklahoma State University with a minor in campaigns and lobbying. This summer, she will assist the Ohio Pork Council team with communications, youth outreach, industry events, and promotional initiatives supporting pork producers across the state.
Raised on her family’s Marion County farm, Street gained hands-on agricultural experience working in row-crop farming while also learning from her grandparents’ commercial and show pig operation. Her background in pig farming helped shape her passion for agriculture, livestock production, and storytelling within the pork industry.
In addition to her agricultural experience, Street has developed skills in writing, photography, and graphic design through her own creative business, giving her a strong foundation for sharing stories about pork producers and the swine industry with consumers and fellow agricultural audiences.
“I am so excited to be a part of the OPC team this summer because of the impact the Ohio Pork Council has had on my family and the support they provide to their members,” Street said. “I cannot wait to work alongside such an amazing staff this summer as I get to meet new people in Ohio’s pork industry and help tell their stories to multiple audiences.”
According to Cheryl Day, executive vice president of the Ohio Pork Council, the organization values opportunities to help young agricultural leaders gain hands-on experience in the pork industry while building professional connections within pig farming and livestock production.
Founded in 1968, the Ohio Pork Council represents approximately 2,500 members and works to serve and benefit pork producers across Ohio through promotion, education, leadership development, and industry outreach.
