NOVUS and Nutra Blend Sponsor Young Pork Advocates Competition at World Pork Expo
NOVUS and Nutra Blend are continuing their support of the next generation of pork industry leaders by sponsoring the 2026 Young Pork Advocates Issues Meet at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines.
Now entering its third year, the Young Pork Advocates Issues Meet is hosted by the National Pork Producers Council and gives young pork enthusiasts ages 18 to 22 the opportunity to step into the spotlight and discuss real issues impacting pork production and the swine industry.
With support from NOVUS and Nutra Blend, participants will compete by presenting solutions to industry challenges while learning how pork industry policy is developed in the United States. Competitors will work through mock motions designed to mirror the NPPC policy development process, helping prepare future leaders for careers in pork production and agriculture advocacy.
The competition also offers major scholarship opportunities for young pork advocates. The first-place winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship along with an all-expenses-paid trip to the NPPC Fall Legislative Action Conference later this year in Washington.
NOVUS Regional Sales Manager Eric Sanny says supporting young leaders is important for the future of the pork industry.
“The young people who participate are exceptional. The ideas they present demonstrate the strength of the future pork industry workforce,” Sanny said. “I’m looking forward to meeting the next generation of pork experts during this year’s Meet.”
Rounds one and two of the competition will take place June 3 inside the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The final round will be held June 4 on the Anne & Bill Riley Stage before the live concert that closes the Expo.
The Young Pork Advocates Issues Meet continues to grow as a showcase for leadership, communication skills, and the future of the U.S. pork industry, made possible through the continued sponsorship and support of NOVUS and Nutra Blend.
