Pork producers looking to improve manure management and increase efficiency will have the opportunity to learn about new technology and nutrient recovery strategies during an upcoming World Pork Expo seminar.
The session, titled “Beyond the Pit: Turning Manure Management into a Profit Center,” will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Meeting Room D of the Varied Industries Building on Thursday, June 4, 2026, during the 2026 World Pork Expo in Des Moines.
Speakers for the session include Kurt Grimm, Dr. Dan Andersen, and pork producer Tork Whisler. The panel will discuss the latest manure separation technologies and how swine producers can improve manure handling systems on their farms.
Topics will include reducing manure storage volume, capturing valuable nutrients, and streamlining manure application processes. Attendees will also hear about current research and real-world implementation from producers using these systems in the field.
The discussion will focus on helping pork producers view manure as more than a waste product. Instead, speakers will explain how manure management practices can become part of a farm’s return on investment strategy.
The seminar is sponsored by NutraDrip and Saveco.
World Pork Expo continues to bring together pork producers, swine industry professionals, researchers, and agribusiness leaders to discuss innovation, sustainability, and the future of pork production in the United States.
