Youth swine exhibitors and 4-H members in Kansas will have an opportunity to sharpen their livestock showmanship skills during an upcoming Swine Showmanship Clinic planned for June 13 in Sublette, Kansas.
The free clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Haskell County Fair Grounds and is open to anyone interested in improving their swine showmanship techniques ahead of county fair season and other livestock exhibitions.
Organizers say participants are encouraged to bring a pig for hands-on instruction, although attendees may also come to observe and learn. The clinic will focus on practical tips and techniques to help youth become more confident and prepared in the show ring.
The event will be led by Hannah Fieser, Josie Fieser, and Harley Heatherman, with lunch provided following the clinic. Those planning to attend lunch are encouraged to RSVP through the Haskell County Extension Office at 620-675-2261.
The clinic is designed to support youth involved in pig farming, 4-H, FFA, and livestock exhibition while helping strengthen the next generation of pork industry leaders and swine exhibitors.
Questions regarding the event can be directed to Ashley Heatherman at 620-649-7285.
Events like this continue to play an important role in developing young livestock exhibitors while promoting swine education, youth leadership, and hands-on learning opportunities within the pork industry.
