CLIVE, Iowa — College students interested in agriculture policy and the pork industry can apply for a summer 2027 legislative internship through the Iowa Pork Producers Association.
The Iowa Pork Legislative Internship provides students with hands-on experience in policy and agricultural advocacy, including time working in a U.S. Senator’s office in Washington, D.C.
The internship gives students an opportunity to learn more about the legislative and policy issues affecting agriculture while developing professional experience and connections that could help prepare them for careers in the pork industry, government, agricultural policy and related fields.
Preference is given to Iowa residents and full-time college students in good scholastic standing. Applicants should have a passion for agriculture and, ideally, an interest in the pork industry.
For students considering careers in agricultural policy, government affairs, pork industry advocacy or other areas of agricultural leadership, the internship provides an opportunity to see how decisions affecting farmers and pork producers are addressed beyond the farm.
Applications for the Iowa Pork Legislative Internship are due October 16, 2026.
Additional information and application details are available through the Iowa Pork Producers Association.
