CARTHAGE, Ill. — Carthage System is seeking a Sow Farm Manager for an on-site position in Carthage, Illinois.
The Sow Farm Manager will oversee daily operations and animal care while leading a team of farm employees to efficiently produce high-quality animals.
Key responsibilities include ensuring pigs receive proper feed, water and daily management; training and leading farm employees; maintaining animal welfare and biosecurity standards; and ensuring compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures.
The manager will also establish short- and long-term goals for breeding and farrowing performance, maintain accurate production records and assist with controlling feed, supply and labor costs.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating special projects, identifying opportunities for operational improvements, conducting employee safety training and overseeing general maintenance of farm buildings, grounds and equipment.
The position requires a strong focus on sow farm management, employee leadership, animal welfare, biosecurity, safety and production efficiency.
The Sow Farm Manager will also maintain communication with neighboring landowners and assist with additional farm responsibilities as needed.
