Borgic Farms recently welcomed Congresswoman Mary Miller, members of her staff, and representatives from the Illinois Farm Bureau to their sow farm facility in Nokomis, Illinois, for discussions focused on agriculture and the pork industry.

According to Borgic Farms, the visit provided an opportunity to showcase modern pork production while discussing issues impacting both family farms and the broader U.S. pork industry. The farm noted that Illinois’ congressional district represented by Congresswoman Miller is currently the eighth-largest pork producing district in the United States.

During the visit, Borgic Farms introduced Congresswoman Miller to members of their team and highlighted the day-to-day operations involved in raising pigs and managing a modern sow farm. Conversations also centered around challenges and opportunities facing pork producers, including issues affecting farm families, livestock production, and the future of agriculture in rural America.

The visit reflects continued efforts by pork producers and agricultural organizations to connect lawmakers with on-farm experiences and provide firsthand insight into food production, animal care, and the economic importance of the pork industry. Borgic Farms has continued to play an active role in leadership development, agricultural advocacy, and promoting opportunities within the pork industry across Illinois.
