Illinois Pork Youth Biosecurity Summer Spotlight | Recognizing Young Pork Producers Protecting Pig Health
The Illinois Pork Producers Association is calling on pork producers, farm families, 4-H members, FFA students, county fair exhibitors, and swine industry supporters to nominate outstanding Illinois youth for the 2026 Youth Biosecurity Summer Spotlight.
This special program recognizes young people who are helping protect pig health and strengthen biosecurity on swine farms, at livestock shows, and throughout the pork industry. Whether they are showing pigs at county fairs, working on the family farm, assisting with daily pig care, or employed by pork production operations, these youth are demonstrating the importance of strong biosecurity practices.
From wearing clean boots and coveralls to disinfecting equipment, following livestock exhibition protocols, and helping prevent the spread of disease, these young leaders are playing a critical role in protecting the future of the Illinois pork industry and U.S. pork production.
Selected nominees will be featured on Illinois Pork social media channels and entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card. Nominations are open now through August 1, 2026.
If you know a young Illinois pork producer, swine exhibitor, 4-H member, FFA student, farm employee, or pork industry advocate who leads by example when it comes to animal health and biosecurity, now is the time to submit a nomination.
