As pork producers continue looking for ways to improve manure management efficiency, Preferred Choice Products is now accepting on-farm trials for its biological manure pit treatment solution, Pit Magic.

The company says the product is designed to help pork producers improve manure pit performance naturally by using specialized Bacillus bacteria and enzyme technology to break down organic solids inside manure storage systems.
According to Preferred Choice Products, Pit Magic works by biologically digesting manure solids to help reduce crusting and sludge buildup while improving nutrient consistency throughout the pit. The company says this can help producers achieve more complete pit cleanouts, improved pumpability, and more uniform nutrient application during manure hauling seasons.
The launch of producer trials allows swine operations the opportunity to evaluate the product directly within their own manure management systems.

“Managing manure pits efficiently is critical for pumping performance, odor control, and nutrient consistency,” the company shared in information released to producers.
Preferred Choice Products says Pit Magic offers several potential benefits for pork producers, including:
- Helping reduce solids, crusting, and sludge buildup
- Improving pumpability and more complete pit cleanouts
- Naturally reducing odors
- Enhancing nutrient consistency for land application
- Supporting more efficient manure management systems

The company also emphasizes that the product is 100% biological and does not rely on harsh chemicals or acids. According to Preferred Choice Products, Pit Magic is safe for livestock, equipment, and workers, while remaining compatible with all manure handling systems.
The recommended application rate is 1 pound per 30,000 gallons of manure.
Preferred Choice Products will also be exhibiting during the 2026 World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa, at Booth V1044 alongside partners Better Bio Security. Pork producers attending the Expo will have the opportunity to visit directly with the team, ask questions about manure pit management, and learn more about current producer trial opportunities.

The company is currently seeking pork producers interested in participating in trials or learning more about the manure pit management solution.
For additional information about Pit Magic, producers can contact Jim and Randie directly or visit the Preferred Choice Products website for more information on their biological solutions for agriculture and livestock operations.
