DES MOINES, Iowa — A new community-focused event is being added to the 2026 World Pork Expo schedule as the National Pork Producers Council partners with LifeServe Blood Center to host an on-site blood drive during the world’s largest pork-specific trade show.
The blood drive will take place Wednesday, June 3, from 7:00 a.m. to noon at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. The LifeServe donation bus will be located in front of Ye Old Mill, next to the McRig, giving pork producers, exhibitors, and attendees an opportunity to donate blood while attending World Pork Expo.
Organizers say the partnership provides a meaningful way for the pork industry to give back while gathered in Des Moines, helping support community blood supply needs during a critical time of year for donations.
According to event details, donors participating in the blood drive will also receive a special Blood Donor Days t-shirt along with a giveaway item from World Pork Expo.
Attendees planning to participate are encouraged to contact LifeServe Blood Center or an NPPC representative for scheduling information and donation appointment details ahead of the event.
World Pork Expo is scheduled for June 3–4, 2026, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds and brings together pork producers, swine industry professionals, exhibitors, and agriculture businesses from across the country.
