STRATFORD, Ontario — Pork producers, swine industry professionals, agriculture supporters, and community members will come together on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, for the annual Hog Jog at the Stratford Rotary Complex during the 2026 Ontario Pork Congress.
The popular event is a long-standing tradition of Ontario Pork Congress and provides an opportunity for participants to support a meaningful local cause while promoting health, community involvement, and the Canadian pork industry.
This year, the 2026 Hog Jog will support the Emily Murphy Centre, a Stratford-based organization dedicated to helping women and children who have experienced violence. The Centre provides safe housing, counseling, advocacy services, and outreach programs designed to support families during and after times of crisis.
Funds raised through the 2026 Hog Jog will directly support the installation of five donated tiny homes that will expand the Emily Murphy Centre’s housing capacity for women and children fleeing unsafe and life-threatening situations. Proceeds from the event will help cover critical infrastructure expenses, including utility connections, allowing the tiny homes to become safe and fully functional living spaces.
Organizers say the project will create additional refuge opportunities for families while helping the Centre continue providing counseling, advocacy services, and connections to community resources. The Hog Jog planning committee said it is honored to support this important initiative and looks forward to bringing the community together for an event that creates a lasting impact.
Participants can choose from three family-friendly events, including a 3.5-kilometer walk or run, a 10-kilometer run, and the popular Kids’ Weaner Run. Following the races, participants can enjoy a post-race pork meal celebrating Ontario’s pork producers and the Canadian pork industry.
Awards will be presented to top pledge raisers and top runners in each age category. The event continues to be a highlight of Ontario Pork Congress, combining fitness, community engagement, and support for local families with the promotion of pork production and agriculture in Canada.
Those interested in participating or supporting the fundraiser can register online through the Ontario Pork Congress website at opic.on.ca/hogjog.
