Representatives from Smithfield Foods present a $13,500 Impact Grant to Carrollton Elementary School in Carrollton, Virginia. The funding will support the construction of a new outdoor classroom featuring seating, shaded learning areas, and hands-on educational spaces designed to enhance student learning beyond the traditional classroom. The grant is part of Smithfield Foods’ ongoing commitment to investing in local communities through its Impact Grant Program.

The company says the outdoor classroom will expand learning beyond traditional classroom walls, giving students opportunities to engage with nature while supporting science, agriculture, environmental education, and other experiential learning activities.

Smithfield Foods noted that its Impact Grant Program supports projects and organizations that address critical community needs while creating lasting, positive impacts in the areas where the company operates.

The grant program reflects Smithfield’s continued focus on community investment through education, youth development, and local partnerships. Across its pork production and food manufacturing network, the company has supported numerous initiatives involving schools, food security, workforce development, and nonprofit organizations.

Organizations interested in receiving future funding still have an opportunity to apply. Applications for Smithfield Foods Impact Grants are due June 30.

Community organizations, schools, and nonprofit groups seeking financial support for projects that improve education, community engagement, or local quality of life are encouraged to submit an application before the deadline.

Smithfield Foods says programs like its Impact Grants demonstrate the company’s commitment to giving back to the communities that support its operations while investing in the next generation.
